Despina Contopoulos-Ioannidis

Despina Contopoulos-Ioannidis, MD is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Contopoulos-Ioannidis is Board Certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases from the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Since 2013, she is also a member of the Steering Committee of the StaR Child Health which is an international collaboration for the promotion of evidence-based standards in pediatric clinical research. Her research interests have been on evidence-based medicine; meta-epidemiologic research projects including empirical evaluations of the comparative effectiveness and comparative safety of interventions in diverse populations (e.g. adult versus pediatric), settings (e.g. more versus less developed countries), and designs (e.g. routinely collected data versus randomized clinical trials); outcomes research and assessment of translational research milestones.
