Debbie Drake Dunne
Debbie brings over two decades of success in leadership, organizational development, external relations, communications, fundraising and advocacy to her role as METRICS founding executive director. Debbie drives the center's strategic direction with an emphasis on catalyzing solutions focused research and strengthening the evidence base for improved decision-making. Debbie previously served as founding executive director for the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment. In that position, she helped establish the university-wide interdisciplinary policy center and increased the relevance and impact of Stanford’s environmental research. She also held leadership positions with The Nature Conservancy, National Audubon Society and the California Resources Agency where she developed major public policy initiatives and designed campaigns resulting in billions of dollars for environmental protection. Debbie is passionate about advancing cancer care through her work as a research advocate in the UCSF Breast Science Advocacy Core, serving as a consumer reviewer for DOD's Breast Cancer Research Program, and by assisting cancer patients with decision support.
